Our Mission:

Everyone Has A Story is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization created to advance and normalize the conversation around mental wellness in black and brown youth one story at a time, through service, outreach, and education

Our Founder:

JD DuBois founded Everyone Has A Story in 2016, to highlight the value of psycho education and mental wellness in the inner city communities. Early into his career, JD realized the equity lens that he used to see the world and his approach to transforming paradigms that cause inequity was unique. After transitioning from athlete to coach, DuBois recognized the need to advocate for the health, safety and wellbeing of more than 2 billion people of all ages who compete annually in sanctioned sports globally. Understanding the value of a healed mind, DuBois created #TheRightConversation and the Holistic Coaching program series to support youth from concentrated disadvantage and normalize the conversation around mental wellness.

JD currently serves as an Assistant Coach in the NBA for his hometown team, the Los Angeles Lakers.  Prior to that, he spent four years as an Assistant Coach with the Detroit Pistons and one year with the Toronto Raptors working in Player Development. Before his coaching tenure, JD played professional basketball for three years overseas in Europe. JD currently holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Loyola Marymount University, where he also competed as a Division I basketball player. He is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Sports Psychology at North Central University. JD is an avid community advocate and has a passion for bridging the gap between mental health and sports initiatives.
